Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This policy explains what information ShortURL (“we”, “us”) collects when you use shorturl.ge (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Links you shorten. We store the destination address, the short code and the time the link was created. The Site has no user accounts, so links are not tied to your name or email.
- Short links are public. Anyone who has a short link or its code can open it, see where it leads and see its click count using our Click Counter and Unshorten tools. Do not shorten addresses that contain private information.
- Clicks on short links. When someone opens a short link, we record the time, the visitor’s IP address and the browser’s user agent, and add one to the link’s click count.
- Reports. If you report a link, we store the link, the reason and details you give, your email address if you choose to provide it, and your IP address and user agent.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
- Technical data. Our hosting and Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the Site, process IP addresses and request details to serve pages and block attacks.
How we use information
- To create short links, redirect visitors and count clicks.
- To prevent abuse: rate limits, checking destinations for malware and phishing, reviewing reports and disabling harmful links.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
- To show advertising, which keeps the Site free.
- To answer your messages and reports.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
Essential. The Site uses a session cookie and a security token cookie so that forms work and cannot be forged. If you choose a light or dark theme, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. These are needed for the Site to work and are not used for tracking.
Analytics. We use Yandex Metrica to measure visits, including pages viewed, clicks on the page and how long visits last. Yandex Metrica uses cookies. We do not load it for visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. You can learn more in the Yandex Privacy Policy and opt out with the Yandex Metrica opt-out add-on.
Advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s consent message before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy and cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work without essential cookies.
Who we share information with
- Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the Site and may show a verification challenge on the report form.
- Google, for advertising. We may also check link destinations against Google’s Web Risk service for malware and phishing. Only the destination address is sent for these checks.
- Yandex, for analytics, for visitors outside the regions listed above.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the Site and its data.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or when needed to protect people from harm or fraud.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours.
How long we keep information
- Links and their click records are kept for as long as the link exists. When a link is deleted, its click records are deleted with it.
- Links disabled for abuse, and the reports about them, may be kept to prevent the same abuse from happening again.
- Messages and reports are kept for as long as needed to handle them and keep a record of our decisions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email [email protected]. If your request is about a link, include the short link. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: we rely on our legitimate interest in running, measuring and protecting the Site for link and click data, and on your consent for advertising cookies.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No online service can guarantee complete security.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
